Netflix boards South Korean thriller Forgotten

Netflix has acquired South Korean mystery thriller Forgotten produced by Kiwi Company and directed by Zhang Hang-jun.

Starring Kang Ha-Neul (Midnight Runners) and Kim Moo-Yeol (Warriors Of The Dawn), the film is scheduled for a Korean theatrical release on November 29. It will then stream on Netflix globally in more than 190 countries in early 2018.

The lead producer on the film, Jang Won-Seok, has credits including recent hit The Outlaws, and older titles such as Tunnel, War Of The Arrows and Confession Of Murder.

The story follows two brothers – the older of whom is kidnapped and returns home suffering from memory loss and strange behaviour.

The film marks Zhang Hang-jun’s return to directing feature films after a nine-year hiatus when he worked in television, scripting and directing popular shows such as Sign and Infinite Challenge. His earlier feature film credits include Break Out (2002) and Spring Breeze (2003).
