Netflix unveils first look of Sacred Games second season

Netflix has revealed a first look of the second series of Hindi-language original Sacred Games, which sees Kalki Koechlin (pictured) and Ranvir Shorey join the cast.

The second season picks up with police detective Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) pursuing his relentless quest to save Mumbai from destruction, while gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is facing bigger challenges to retain his position as the city’s legendary kingpin.

A third pivotal character Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi), introduced in the first series as Gaitonde’s “third father”, plays a pivotal role in unfolding a chain of events that shape the season.

Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has directed the scenes featuring Gaitonde, while Neeraj Ghaywan (Masaan) has focused on the story of Sartaj Singh.

Vikramaditya Motwane and Varun Grover continue their roles of being the showrunner and the lead writer, respectively.

Based on Vikram Chandra’s award-winning book, Sacred Games Season 2 will premiere on Netflix later this year.
