EzyFlix strikes Samsung alliance

Australian VoD service EzyFlix.tv has signed a deal with Samsung Electronics that makes it fully compatible with Samsung’s WatchOn application.

The full integration means users will be able to use the app to rent or buy programmes across EzyFlix’s entire content library and then watch them on any Samsung device from phones to tablets and smart TVs. Ezyflix already offers VoD and download-to-own services to iOS users.

Launched in 2013 with backing from Access Digital Entertainment, Ezyflix was the first Australian VoD service to support Google’s Chromecast. It also has a deal with cloud-based digital rights library UltraViolet that allows users to stream and download content to multiple platforms and devices.

“We are excited that Samsung has chosen to partner with us to provide Samsung Smart TV and Samsung WatchOn users the best value and the most versatile way to enjoy their movie collections and gain further access to the widest range of TV shows and films to buy or rent,” said EzyFlix co-founder Craig White.
