Netflix introduces offline viewing

Netflix has reversed a decision to never provide offline viewing by making select content available for download and viewing when the user is away from an internet connection.

Starting from today, Netflix has introduced a download button for some of its original series, including Orange Is The New Black, Narcos and The Crown, along with other shows and movies.

Original content is easier to provide for offline viewing as Netflix owns all those rights, while it will have to renegotiate for other films and series it has acquired from third parties.

Downloadable content varies from region to region and the new feature is only available on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.
